New Clouds 4 Sale at Paisley Park?
Well now this is interesting......It seems that paisley Park might be selling the white and blue cloud guitars again like they did in theearly 200's via the NPG website. This info came from Dr. Funkenberry's instagram account. Thanks to Wes Swick for giving me the heads up on this! I don't know much more than that but when I do i'll pass it along to all of you!
Ordered mine in blue earlier this month. Should be ready mid March.

DeleteUnfortunately, I've become accustomed of what to expect when it comes to customer service from Paisley Park. I just hate that they won't answer any other emails except initial orders. A simple confirmation or denial of tracking will appease me. Either way, I just need to make arrangements for someone to be home when it ships. I don't want it left on my porch either. :/

DeleteUpdate: I received my white cloud Friday evening. I met the UPS driver just as I arrived home. I did not receive an email notification nor a tracking number. The guitar itself is beautiful, but I was a disturbed that it could have been left on my porch. I ordered a tamboracca last week so I assume the same thing will happen.
DeleteOur UPS driver usually delivers late so I hope someone is home. The amount of money spent should have been worthy of an emailed tracking number from PP... thanks for your update!

ReplyDeleteI got the final invoice, $1535.00 I emailed them about tracking info several days ago and about 2 or 3 days later they responded that they are shipping next week and would email tracking info. :-)

ReplyDeleteI was sent an email relating to late deliveries of the blue cloud. I informed them all my emails stated the white from the first email. I asked them to confirm. I hope they haven't screwed up😫
ReplyDeleteOh goodness. I also ordered white. I am really hoping for a delivery in the next few weeks. Seems like when they sent the email about invoices going out, that it took almost 3 weeks after that email to get the invoice.. this whole process has made me nervous. Thanks for the update. I will continue to update as I get any info from them. :-)

ReplyDeleteAwesome... I got a general email from Paisley Park saying to expect it in the next week or two. I really wish they would send me tracking so it isn't sitting on the front porch.

DeleteUPS will leave it unless it specifies not to.. but, my son just called and said it was delivered a few minutes ago. He said it is beautiful. I can't wait to get home and see it!

ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! The outside of the case is purple. The inside is a soft fluffy purple material. There is a little compartment that holds keys to lock the case and tools for strings etc. We have the white, it has sparkle in it. Little details on the guitar of the love symbol. In our opinion, it was well worth the wait. The did not email me tracking though and the shipping label did require a signature. You are going to love it!! I wish I could post a picture on here.

DeleteDon't get me wrong everyone I'm glad to be getting my white(ish) guitar. But why didn't they make it white like HIS in the movie? And wouldn't have been easier to make it just white? Or am I missing something? Please school me if I am.
ReplyDeleteRobert I bought one in 2000 that they were selling and I was a little shocked that it wasn't bright white.....it's more off white pearlescent color but it's still beautifull!

ReplyDeleteYes - I've ordered a Blue cloud and also prepaid in Nov plus completed the invoice in mid March. I've also heard nothing. In the UK so was expecting a wait. Not sure how long this will be though!

ReplyDeleteI don't know what the limited no. Is I got the white one. But after I sent a (friendly ��) Every three days. They responded to about half of them so be persistent. Also the white came with gold tone amp knobs. Prince's knobs were black. I know the guitar isn't exact (that's wishing for too much with mass produces) a little something off here and there. But I did see Bruno Mars playing the exact guitar at the awards program. They only add the schecter name at the top front of the neck for advertising purposes I imagine. But it was great seeing the play potential of the guitar so I will take it at that. Schecter would not supply on request replacement amp knobs in black to more mimic Princes so I brought my own and I think it looks great. They don't fit exact so I might just paint the gold ones and reattach. �� Anybody else get where I'm coming from on the knob color?��

It is reportedly the prototype of the first 100 white Clouds that Schecter made for Prince to sell in 2000, gifted to Bruno by the previous owner, Greg Cox. That may explain the unique presence of the Schecter logo on the face of the headstock. But I don't know why there are apparently 3 different guitars pictured in the article (note the presence/absence of the Prince symbol, Schecter logo on headstock, and EMG vs. "Duncan Designed" pickups).
I like the gold knobs FWIW. Prince's original white cloud didn't have the 'love' fret markers either (rather black dots). I prefer the love fret markers too.

ReplyDeleteMy review of my new Schecter White Cloud FWIW. I would love to hear your views too (especially contrary views). Context: This is my first time playing any kind of cloud guitar. I own a bunch of Strats and other guitars including a David Gilmour Custom Shop and Edge Signature model. I am by no means a professional player.
ReplyDeleteOverall, the guitar looks and plays great and I am thrilled with my purchase. Some minor paint imperfections, especially on the neck and large routed swirl. These are only visible very close up. Neck pickup has a gold EMG logo but the bridge pickup has a silver logo. Nice throaty tone from the neck pickup. Bridge humbucker seems a bit compressed, but the sustain is unreal. Prince tones live here, fo' sho'. Fret wire is very large. This encourages light normal playing and makes the neck very expressive. But it is easy to press too hard in normal playing and go sharp. Set-neck joint is beautiful and provides easy access to high notes. Guitar is 3/4 scale, which is very comfy. But it is very neck-heavy so you have to hold the neck up or have a strap that sticks to your shirt.
A note on being neck-heavy and straps: I bought Levy's pony faux fur strap, being the closest I could find to the strap used in Purple Rain (there is much more black than in the catalog picture: http://www.levysleathers.com/shop/genre-glam-strap-mssf8-pon). The polypropylene back slides and allows the neck to drop. I need to add something to cause it to stick to my shirt (or purple trench coat)
DeleteI missed out the recent batch of cloud guitars. I found out a little too late! I emailed Paisley Park to see if they would be getting any more. They replied and said yes, they should be taking orders for them later this year. To be notified, be subscribed to thier mailing list. You can sign up at thier site. They might even have some new colors. I'm hoping they will offer a full scale length. Not sure I'd like the 3/4 scale. I'm pretty sure that's Prince's personal guitars were full scale.
